Kent Shaw

Designer Kent Shaw of Clossons, was featured in the March/April 2007 issue of Sophisticated Living magazine. The desire to make the sitting room more comfortable led the homeowner of a Hyde Park apartment to partner with interior designer Shaw. The homeowner appreciated Shaw’s attention to subtle details and enlisted his help to unite disparate design elements in the remainder of the apartment. A chenille sectional is outfitted with an assortment of colorful pillows - a hallmark of Shaw’s influence. Several of the pillows were crafted from an antique tapestry from Uzbekistan. Faint guidelines reveal the hand of the weaver. This subtle detail imparts a great deal of meaning to an otherwise utilitarian decorative element.
