Turkish Cinicilik pottery is made through a complex eight step process. Each step must be completed patiently and slowly or the piece will be lost. This makes every piece the quality of fine china. Each design features a symbol added by the artist. Many of these symbols are taken from nature. For example the tulip represents love, the butterfly represents delicacy or elegance, and the fish represents luck. In the Turkish culture, these symbols are very important to the meaning of the painted designs and make each creation a gift from the heart.
