Eight auspicious symbols typically adorn Tibetan textiles and objects. The Precious Umbrella symbolizes preservation from harm. The Vase of Treasure, an endless long life. The Lotus Flower, purity of body, speech and mind – to name a few.
Handmade by artisans of the Norbulingka Institute, these pillow slips employ an ancient Tibetan technique of patching precious silks and brocades into intricate and striking designs.

Carved from single pieces of wood, these rustic round boxes may be used to store jewelry or other precious items. As Tibetan antiques, simple beauty and storied history make these boxes unmatched accent pieces.

Antique, handmade of real silver and inlaid with turquoise. Truly a one-of-a-kind find.

Perhaps no one has touched my heart more than the children of the Tibetan Children's Colony, a facility high in the Himalayas where more than 2000 children are left by their parents to learn traditional Tibetan ways. The kids enjoyed everything I gave them, even the toothbrushes.
